I'm Mats Nordgren — Chief Product Officer at Vilja Solutions. For three decades I've been designing the systems banks run on — composable, cloud-native, and built to shape what comes next.

Product, architecture, and a little bit of summer light.
I architect end-to-end financial management systems — for new entrants as well as established players extending their portfolio. My particular interest is financial analytics and pattern analysis, and I'm actively integrating today's AI and deep learning advances into modern core banking.
At Vilja, we've built a cloud-native platform from scratch — free of legacy baggage — that powers banks across the Nordics, Europe, and beyond. Recognised by Gartner, IDC, Celent and Forrester as a next-generation core banking vendor.
Based in Stockholm. Happiest somewhere between a whiteboard and a wooden sailboat.

After years of architecting large-scale banking platforms, I'm now rethinking how products come to life: from first prompt to shipped feature, from prototype to production. AI isn't replacing the product craft — it's compressing the iteration loop and surfacing new questions about taste, trust, and intent.
This summer, that rediscovery is my main side-project.
